Lotus ownership is not for the feint hearted but with some reasonable home mechanic skills you can own one without needing buckets of money. I'd always wanted a Lotus since I was a boy and bought my first S3 Esprit in 2000. The car had done over 100K so most weekends were spend under it fixing stuff. It actually served me well and is now in South Wales as far as know. The car above is an S4 which is a much more refined car, powered by a 260 BHP 910 chargecooled engine. It doesn't need constant attention apart from the odd oil change so more time can be spent driving and meeting other Esprit owners.
